Item No.: 9 Date: January 8, 2024 <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards <br />Presenter: City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section:Consent Agenda <br /> <br /> <br />Title: 2024 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation (CIPP) Design (24-014) <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of this action item is to gain council approval to commence the planning and <br />engineering of the 2024 Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project. <br />2.Background: <br />Since 2005, MCES has identified Orono as one of the communities who contribute excessive <br />Inflow and Infiltration (I & I). The City has been executing a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project <br />annually to reduce I&I. Each year the City works to identify inflow and infiltration points within <br />the sanitary sewer system thought our annual inspection program. These inspections then inform <br />our rehabilitation efforts for the upcoming years. <br />3.Scope: <br />a. Project Scope of Work. This Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project will consist of Cured in <br />Place Pipe (CIPP) lining of infiltration susceptible sanitary sewer pipes. The purpose of the <br />project is to reduce Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) into the sanitary sewer systems and extend <br />the life to the existing pipes. <br />b. Design and Engineering Scopes of Work. Planning and engineering will consist of <br />reviewing televising, preparation of plans and specification and solicitation of bids. Proposal <br />at Exhibit A <br />4.Cost: <br />BMI provide a not to exceed cost of $ 24,900 for design work. <br />5.Funding: <br />The design and engineering as well as the construction of the project will come from the Sanitary <br />Sewer Fund. The 2024 CIP budgeted $300,000 for the project.
