Item No.: 8 Date: January 8, 2024 <br />Presenter: Adam Edwards <br />Presenter: City Administrator / Engineer <br />Section:Consent Agenda <br /> <br /> <br />Title: Lurton Park Parking Lot Expansion Design (24-026) <br /> <br />1.Purpose: <br />The purpose of the council action is to authorized the design for a parking lot expansion project for <br />Lurton Dog Park. <br />2.Background: <br />The Lurton Dog Park continues to see heavy use and the parking lot is not able to meet the <br />demand. When the parking lot is full, many cars park along Wayzata Blvd which creates <br />unnecessary danger to users of the park. <br />3.Scope: <br />a. The project scope of work includes the expansion of the current parking lot for an additional <br />10-11 parking places and adjustment of the fence line. <br />b. The design scope of work consists of layout and preparation of a site plan, estimated <br />quantities and MCWD permitting documents. <br />4.Cost: <br />a. The project is estimated to cost $52,000 for construction. <br />b. The estimated cost for design and permitting work is $9720. <br />5.Funding: <br />The project will be funded by the Lurton Park Fund.
