<br />Areas within the jurisdiction of
<br />the Village Council subject to
<br />flood conditions as established by
<br />the Engineer of the Village of

<br />subdivision purposes until ade

<br />It is the declared general policy
<br />of the Village Council that in all
<br />new subdiviaiana net lees than

<br />dedicated tor public use, each

<br />property, other than roads, is not
<br />necessary in connection with this
<br />subdivision.
<br />The area thus dedicated thould
<br />be either usable area or tree

<br />tubdivider shall leave land so
<br />dedicated in a ccmduion satisfac
<br />tory to the Village Council.
<br />The varying tire of Iota, the
<br />size ot the subdivision, etc., will
<br />have a direct bearing on tho de
<br />sirability of and the necessity for
<br />such dedication as well as the
<br />size of tho piece to be dedicated.
<br />It will be within the discretion
<br />of the Planning Commission to
<br />interpret th^ regulations in the
<br />light of the overall plan and pet-
<br />tem of park development.
<br />In the interests of the Village
<br />as a whole, and, therefore, of
<br />benefit to the aubdivision, the
<br />Village Council of Orono is de
<br />sirous of conserving certain areas
<br />of natural beauty and establish
<br />ing in various areas the logical
<br />distribution of the following types
<br />of facilities:
<br />1 Play lots, for preschool chil
<br />dren.
<br />Children’s playgrounds, for
<br />children fnm five to fifteen
<br />years of age to use for active
<br />play.
<br />Athletic field, es e specialized
<br />center fer organized games
<br />and sports. **
<br />Parks, large and small, for
<br />their velue in passive recrea
<br />tion and as a long range pro
<br />tection from congestion of de
<br />velopment
