ORD 286 4 <br />In accordance with Minn. Stat. § 415.11, any changes in the salaries set forth in <br />subsections (1) and (2) of this section shall be by ordinance and shall not take effect until <br />after the next succeeding city election. <br />SECTION 7. Orono City Code Title I, Chapter 2, Article II, Section 2-39 is amended by <br />adding the underlined language and deleting the strikethrough language as follows: <br />Sec. 2-39. Council meetings. <br />Special meetings of the council may be called by the mayor, city administrator, or <br />by any two members of the council by writing filed with the city clerk, who shall then <br />mail or deliver a notice to all the members of the time and place of meeting at least one <br />day before the meeting.Emergency meetings may be held without prior written notice <br />when all councilmembers are present at the meeting or consent to the meeting orally or in <br />writing. Written consent shall be filed with the city clerk prior to the beginning of the <br />meeting, and oral consent shall be noted in the minutes of the meeting. An emergency <br />meeting may be called because of circumstances that require immediate consideration by <br />the city council. Posted or published notice is not required for an emergency meeting, but <br />notice that includes the subject of the meeting shall be given to councilmembers by <br />telephone or any other method used to notify members. The public body shall also make <br />good faith efforts to provide notice as soon as is reasonably practicable of the emergency <br />meeting to each news medium that has filed a written request for notice if the request <br />includes the news medium's telephone number. <br />SECTION 8. Orono City Code Title I, Chapter 2, Article II, Section 2-40 is amended by <br />adding the underlined language and deleting the strikethrough language as follows: <br />Sec. 2-40. Council procedure at regular meetings. <br />(a)The city clerk shall prepare the following items: <br />(1)An agenda for the forthcoming meeting; <br />(2)A report from the city administrator on administrative activities of the <br />preceding month; <br />(32)A copy of a compiled list of all claimants who have filed verified accounts <br />claiming payment for goods or services rendered the city during the <br />preceding month, such list to be called the "Check Register" and bearing <br />headings information regarding purpose and amount; and <br />(43)A copy of all minutes to be considered. <br />(b)The city clerk shall forthwith cause to be delivered or mailed to the mayor and <br />each councilmember copies of all such documents.
