COMMUNITY BUILDING <br />GOAL <br />Enable individuals to work with resource providers in crafting solutions to community <br />problems and challenges. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />liable members of commun md neighborhoods to be active players in <br />building a sense of community and devising solutions to community problems <br />and challenges. <br />ROLE OF STATE GOVERNMENT <br />Provide resources to develop and disseminate descriptions of model community assets and <br />models of successful community-building processes. <br />HOLE OF REGIONAL AGENCIES • COUNTIES, METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />Identify and promote model community assets and community-building processes found <br />in the healthy communities. <br />Provide forums for exploring community-building processes and the exchange of ideas, <br />Promote the use of regional and local plannin«: tools to facilitate the <br />community-building process. <br />Highlight urban design practices which strengthen a sense of community. <br />Allow community processes which enable communities to employ individual solutions <br />and develop community-building processes which meet their needs. <br />Reduce the maze of bureaucracy which impedes the effectiveness of local community <br />revitalization programs that focus on community development. <br />ROLE OF CmES/COMMUNITIES <br />Identify community assets through a citizen participation process, <br />a Urban Strategies Task Force Report
