REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
DATE:June lAT ^
ITEM NO: / /^4/jlf
Department Approval:
Name Tom Kuebn '“"TyK^
xtor-'
Administrator Reviewed:
Title Finance Direct
Agenda Section:
City Administrators
Report
Item D^cription:
Request to Delete Sewer Assessment on Tax Forfeit Lot Released for Sale to Adjacent Property
Owner
Attachments:Letter from N. Hammarberg
Discussion;
In March, 1985 the parcel identified as PIN 06-117-23 41 0058 was lax forfeit due to
nonpayment of the sewer assessment levied in 1975, for collection from 1976 through 1990.
The parcel in question and an adjoining parcel were each charged with a one half unit for the
sewer assessment because neither was considered buildable individually. The other parcel was
combined with another lot so the remaining tax forfeit parcel was released only for sale to an
adjoining property. Mr. Niklas Hammarberg, the owner of 4081 Oak Street, which adjoins the
forfeit parcel would like to purchase the forfeit lot and has requested that the City waive the
sewer assessment, originally $2,881.12, now $3,273.98 with penalties and interest. In as much
as the lot is non-buildable and will not have sewer p«-ovided to it, and because the bonds for this
project were paid off in 1990, it is staffs recommendation that if Mr. Hammarberg purchases
the tax forfeit lot and combines it with his existing property, then the delinquent sewer
assessment outstanding under levy 6345 be waived.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED:
Waiver of outstanding delinquent sewer assessment on tax forfeit PID 06-117-23 41 0058 in the
amount of $3,273.98 upon purchase by N. Hammarberg, if parcel is combined with
Hammarberg property located at 4081 Oak Street.
Proposed Motion: Moved by _, seconded by _, to waive the outstanding sewer assessment
on the lax forfeit property PID 06-117-23 41 0058 upon the purchase by adjoining property
owner, N. Hammarberg, 4081 Oak Street and combination with the adjoining property. Ayes
, Navs
A'
