Policy Ccmmittee <br />April 20, 1994 <br />Page 2 <br />* Proceeding with Study - the group decided that starting <br />with the Long Lake/ Orono area was most prudent <br />* The negotiating team from Long Lake and Orono should <br />designate the items of most importance in the Scope of <br />Services <br />Other Stuff <br />* MnDOT has started research for the Hazardous Waste <br />section of the Draft EIS <br />* Baseline water quality testing has started for that <br />section of the EIS. Testing should be complete by July. <br />Layouts <br />* Mn/DOT has identified an alternate connection for <br />segment G that bypasses the Wayzata Country Club. <br />* Maps for each city have been distributed. Technical <br />committee met in December to discuss. <br />* Through Jan and Feb, MnDOT met with each city <br />individually to discuss technical merit of each <br />alternative. <br />* Comments have been collected and reviewed. Changes to <br />layouts are being made. Some areas require discussion <br />between several councils to come to decision on some <br />design elements. Val will schedule meeting to work out <br />these issues through May and June. <br />Funding <br />* Funding for the construction of the project will come <br />in the future - the EIS has received funding to work on <br />areas that in house staff cannot complete <br />Mediation <br />* Members of the group want to look at system planning <br />concepts. MnDOT has discussed with the counties and is <br />reviewing elements that could be included in a system <br />planning alternative. This alternative will reqiire <br />traffic modeling to see if it is beneficial. <br />* MnDOT is proceeding with getting a traffic consultant <br />on board to look at the regional model. An analysis of <br />future demand will be part of the study. <br />Meeting Schedules <br />* Next Mediation - June 28 <br />* Next Policy Committee - June 15 <br />* Next TH 12 Task Force - June 30 <br />Adjournment
