Trunk Highway 12 Policy Conunittee Meeting <br />Project Discussion <br />April 20 5:30 orono City Hall <br />Attendees:Valerie Reinaas <br />Marion Alger <br />John Russek <br />Marv Johnson <br />Ed Callahan <br />Tod Olson <br />Dick Harmon <br />Ann Thies <br />Mn/DOT <br />Maple Plain <br />Franklin Township <br />Independence <br />Orono <br />Long Lake <br />Wayzata <br />Medina <br />The meeting was scheduled at the Long Lake City Hall but was moved <br />to Orono to accommodate a very large attendance. <br />Project Update - Valerie Reinaas <br />EIS Update <br />Wetland Identification <br />* Existing alignment complete <br />* North Segment complete <br />* Initial meeting with other Environmental Agencies <br />regarding how to address wetlands in the Draft EIS is <br />complete. <br />* The south corridor field review will begin in May or <br />June of 94 <br />Archeological/Historic <br />* Fully funded <br />* Consultant proposal was pulled. Minnesota Indian <br />Affairs Council is reviewing need for consultant study. <br />* Field surveys for initial archeological reconnaissance <br />is complete. New consultant will be selected to finish <br />the phase I historical reconnaissance. <br />Vegetation <br />* Field review were completed over the winter for forest <br />populations. Existing wildlife habitat has also been <br />completed. <br />Traffic Forecasts <br />* Proposal is in for review and consultant has been <br />selected. Barton Aschman is consultant selected. <br />Contract should be complete to start work in early May. <br />Add'l funds will be <br />Economic Study <br />* Partially funded in FY 94. <br />requested in FY 95 <br />* Contract went out for bids in February. Consultant has <br />been selected and approved. We are now in the contract <br />negotiation phase of the project. Work to start in a <br />couple of months.
