ORDINANCE NO., SECOND SERIES <br />THE ORONO CITY COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. Orono Municipal Zoning Code. Section 10.56, Subdivision 3, <br />definition 2 "Bluff" is amended as follows: <br />2. "Bluff" - A topographic feature such as a hill, cliff, or embankment having <br />the following characteristics (an area with an average slope of less than 18% over a <br />distance of 50’ or more shall not be considered part of the blufO: <br />A. Part or all of the feature is located in a shorelarel area; <br />B. The slope rises at least 25’ above the Ordinary High Water Level of <br />the water body; <br />C. The grade of the slope from the toe of the blutt to a point 25 or more <br />above the Ordinaiy High Water Level averages 30% or greater; and <br />D. The slope must drain toward the water body. <br />2(a). "Toe of the bluff '- "Bluff, toe of the" - The means the lower point of a <br />50’ segment with an average slope exceeding 18%. "Top bluff" meana the higher <br />point of Q 50’ segment wiA an average slope exceeding <br />2(M. "Bluff, ton of the" - That point on the cross-section of a bluff below which <br />rhP becomes more than 18% and above which the average $lope for a distance^ <br />50’ or more is 18% or less._ <br />SECTION 2. Adoption and Publication Period. This ordinance shall be published <br />in the Pioneer and the Uker newspapers and shall become effective immediately upon <br />publication. <br />Adopted by the City Council of Orono.
