MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD JANUARY 10, 1994 <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT CONTINUED <br />Kelley noted that there was u movement afoot to have the ice facilities moved <br />onto the school property to facilitate the ^Is hockey progrram. Nothing formal <br />had been done yet, but he felt the Council should be aware of this movement. <br />ENGINEER REPORT <br />There was no Engineer's report. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />(#7) LONG LAKE WATER QUALITY PUBLIC INFOR!^IATION CO^EvIITTEE <br />Moorse reviewed the project and asked for Council input regarding appointing <br />someone to serve on the Water Quality Public Information Committee for Long <br />Lake. Mayor Callahan commented he felt they should give this matter some <br />thought before deciding who would serve on the committee. He also felt it should <br />be determined what the body was going to do before appointing someone. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the various agencies involved. <br />Councilmembor Hurr arrived at the meeting at 7:50 p.m. <br />(*#8) PARK COMMISSION REAPPOINTMENTS <br />Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to reappoint Richard Flint, Sysan Wilson and <br />Sherokee Use to the Park Commission. Ayes 5, nays 0. <br />(#9) 1994 APPOINTMENTS - RESOLUTION NO. 3378 <br />Mayor Callahan requested that the Acting Mayor be changed from Diann Goetten <br />to Gabriel Jabbour. <br />Hurr stated she did not want to serve on the Cable Commission as she did not <br />have cable television and she asked Jabbour to replace her on that body. Jabbour <br />agreed. <br />Hurr moved, Goetten seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 3378 as amended, <br />designating selected appointments for the Year 1994. Ayes 5, nays 0. <br />(*#10)ANNUAL PURCHASE OF NEW SQUAD CARS <br />Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the purchase of two police squad <br />cars under the State of Minnesota contract from Superior Ford at a price of <br />$13,951 each. Ayes 4, nays 0.
