No.: 07-117-23-12-0002 <br />Dear Sirs: <br />Originally I planned to attend the Local Board of Review <br />meeting at Orono at 7:00 o’clock p.m. this evening. <br />However, unexpected business has made it impossible for me <br />to attend that meeting in a timely fashion, and I am fearful <br />that the meeting will be ccanpleted by the time I arrive. I <br />do wish to appeal the tax evaluation for my property. <br />Although my property abuts two more valuable parcels, it is <br />extremely unrealistic to believe that I could receive the <br />market value currently attached to my property. As a real <br />estate broker generally familiar with prices for real estate <br />in the Lake Minnetonka area, and I am familiar with each of <br />my neighbors salesprices. I know that Mr. and Mrs. David J. <br />Hawkins recently sold their property (my neighbor to the <br />west) for $310,000.00 and I know that my neighbor to the <br />south, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wadde, have not only placed their <br />Parade of Homes mansion on the market for a price in excess <br />of $1.5 million but they are also selling vacant lots do%m <br />the block for considerably more than my house is worth. <br />I purchased my hcxne in 1977 for $70,000.00 and made <br />$5,000.00 worth of improvements before I moved into the <br />home. Thereafter, my improvements have been limited to the <br />repair of my roof, and a conversion from oil to gas heat. <br />(My furnace is still the original one put in the house when
