The purpose of the hearing was to advise the <br />public of the extert of the improvement and to advise of the proposed <br />sections of road that would be closed as a result of the improvement. The <br />meeting was very poorly attended and it is staff's opinion that many of <br />these property owners will be in attendance at the public hearings for <br />cooditional use persits and variances scheduled for tonight's meeting. We <br />have asked the M.W.C.C. to send a representative to answer any of the <br />technical questions that smy arise. <br />The Orono interceptor/sewer improvement will commence sometime in <br />August of 1968 within the cities of Orono and Spring Park. The project is <br />designed to provide additional sewer capacity for the cities of Orono, <br />Spring Park and Minr.etonka Beach and to prevent the overflow of untreated <br />sewage into Lake Minnetonka. Construction will teks place in two phases. <br />Phase I conetruc-i*. n scheduled for late summer and fall of 1966 will <br />Include e segment of Cld Crystal Bay Road (Hennepin County Road 64) aa well <br />as Worth Shore Drive (Hennepin County Road 51) between old Crystal Bey Road <br />and Ehadywood Road (Hennepin County Roads 19 end 51). During Phase I <br />construction, worth Shore Drive between Bohn's Point Road and Beldur Park <br />Road is expected to be closed for several months. Detours will be <br />coordinated with t)ie city of Orono. <br />Phase II construction is sclieduled for spring end summer of 1989 and <br />will include areas adjacent to Shedywood Road between North Shore Drive and <br />Worthview Road as well as a segment of Northview Road. During Phase II <br />construction, Shedywood Road between North Shore Drive and Pagerness Point <br />Road will be closed for several weelcs. Once again, detours will be <br />coordinated with the City of Orono. Review Exhibit Q-2 for exact locations <br />of the areas of roads to be closed. <br />Review Exhibit P, the project will include not only the Installation <br />of larger sized sewer piping, but will also include the major upgrading of <br />lift stations within the City. Lift Station No. 43, 46 and 49 will be <br />upgraded. Former Lift Station No. 44 on Baldur Park and Lift Station No. <br />45 at Pagerness Point Road will be replaced with new Lift Station No. 44, <br />adjacent to the Maxwell Bay Marina and new Lift Station No. 45 located <br />within the Hennepin County public access. <br />The notices have been sent to all property owners within 150' of the <br />areas of piping that will be laid or installed within 75' of the lakeshore, <br />please review Exhibits B through E. Of tho 5 lift stations, 3 are <br />scheduled for major upgrading and 2 as new installations adjacent to the <br />Maxwell Bay Marina and Hennepin County access. Review Exhibits F through <br />0, these designate the 350' notification areas adjacent to all the lift <br />stations. <br />' * 1m:m
