The purpose of this action item is to gain re-approval to proceed with replacement of <br />trucks 431 chassis <br /> <br />2. Background. Back in October of 2022 the city council approved replacement of 3 trucks. The city <br />was able to get one truck replaced. The other 2 chassis orders the dealer, Midway Ford, has been unable <br />to fulfill. This is due to supply chain issues and the recent strike of the motor companies. The city has <br />found a chassis from a different vendor, Boyer Ford, that meets our specification and is in stock. <br /> <br />3. Vehicle Description. 431 is a 1-ton dump truck and used to support public works activities and <br />plow snow <br /> <br />4. Cost. The City previously received quotes, for new chassis, snow plows boxes, lifting crane and <br />related items thru state contract pricing, of those the only change is the supplier of the chassis. <br /> <br />Company Model / Description Cost <br />Midway Ford 2024 Ford F550 Chassis $ 60,468.38 ** <br />Boyer Ford 2023 Ford F550 Chassis $ 75,286.19 <br />Inc. tax title, lic. <br />** unable to fulfill the orders <br /> <br />5. Funding. This replacement will be funded through the Equipment Fund. The 2022 Capital <br />Improvement Plan allocated $ 65,000. 2023 pricing is higher however there is sufficient fund balance to <br />cover the increase. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
