Mabusth
Building and Zoning Administrator
City of Orono
Post Office Box 66
Crystal Bay, Minnesota 55323
Re: Carson Pond
File No. 139-2039
Dear Jeanne,
We have reviewed the proposal to create a pond on the Shar>l an^Vally Carson property
located on Lot I, Block 3, Old Crvstal Bay Road 2nd Addition. The contours shown ate
e^ersllv accentable however we would recommend a 10:1 bench from the wafer line to one
foot bil^ .h^w^er re^^ provides a margin of safety and
vegetation around the pond perimeter. The water level of the pond will nee
estimated with grading done accordingly.
Existing topsoil should be salvaged for respteading over the dismrbed
should be restored with seeding using a wetland seed rntnure such as Mn/DOT mature ^0.
The nronosed pond is acceptable from an engineering standpoint However, approval must
obtSied ulm the U.S. Corps of Engineers. The total impacted area is approximately
0 3 acres which should qualify for a Nationwide Permit
Please contact me at this office if you have any questions regarding this matter.
Yours ver>’ truly.
bonestroo , ROSENE.
