A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />VARIANCES TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.03, SUBDIVISION 14 (C); <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2; AND <br />SECTION 10.25, SUBDIVISION 6 (B) <br />nUE #2033 <br />WHEREAS, Don, ,d R. Kielley and Arlene Kielley (hereinafter "the applicants") <br />arc owners of the property located at 1670 Shadywood Road within the City of Orono <br />(hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows: <br />The South 2’ of Lot 7 and all of Lot 8. Shadywood, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br />(hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for variances to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Sections 10.03. Subdivision 14 (C); 10.22. Subdivision 2; and 10.25, Subdivision <br />6 (B) to permit construction of a 10.5’x42.5’ addition to the street side of the existing residence <br />to be placed 6’ from the north side lot line where a 10’ setback is required and where the <br />existing structure is located 8" from the lot line. The improvement will result in a structural <br />coverage excess of 593 s.f. or 4% for a total of 19% coverage where 15% is allowed and 15.6% <br />exists and a hardcover variance of 1,954 s.f. or 19.9% with total hardcover of 4,409 s.f. or <br />44.8% where 25% is allowed and 51.6% exists. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. <br />1 <br />This application was reviewed as Zoning File #2033. <br />The property is located in the LR-IC, Lakeshore Residential Zoning District <br />requiring .5 acre or 21,780 s.f.
