Cootract for School Liaison Officer Servk» <br />2 of Z <br />6. <br />The Sdxx)l T tai<nn Officer will work under the supervision of the Orono Chiet of Police. <br />Monthly meetings will be scheduled between the School District Admimstrators. the School <br />Liaison Officer, and the Chief of Police to develop specific monthly work schedules and work <br />priorities. <br />7. School Liaison Officer Attire , . , u a r - <br />The School Liaison Officer will normally wear suitable plain clothes attire. A police <br />uniform will be worn as conditions dictate such as special events, presentations, coming from or <br />going to other assignments which require a uniform, etc. <br />8. SrhnnI Liaison Roles und Responsibilities <br />The Liaison Officer's main responsibilities will be: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />To build rappoft and be available and visible to students through informal contact <br />in the buildings, at student activities, with student groups and during scheduled <br />office hours. <br />To assist school authorities, social workers, etc. when requested on issues of <br />criminal activity, chemical use, abuse, etc. The liaison otficer will not be the <br />authority for disciplining students on school premises. That function will remain <br />the responsibility of school authorities who will enforce their own school rules and <br />policies. <br />To assist with the development and implementation of programs designed to <br />counteract negative juvenile activity such as youth service programs, SADD, <br />PRIDE, Peer Helpers, etc. <br />To make classroom and public presentations on Juvenile and criminal activity <br />related topics. <br />To serve as a resource person and provide support to school staff, students, <br />parents and community members on issues related to criminal activity, chemical <br />use, abuse, snident conflicts, etc. <br />6.
