as^ciation of mefropo itan municipa ities <br />June 23.1995 <br />Dear Mayor <br />Many critical issues affecting metropolitan cities will probably be dealt with in the 1996 Legislative session. <br />Talk of pro perty *** reform and elimmanoo of or reductions in LGA/HACA and removal of educanon <br />financing from local property taxes could be a major issue. Lack of adequate rtansportationAraittit funding <br />has reached a critical point Land use controls, regional blueprint implementatioo and modifications to the <br />cost allor^i^ system for the regional wastewater treatment system could be on the front burner as well. <br />We need your views and input on these and other important issues as well to help sh^ie and establi^ <br />legislative policy and directiem for the Assodaden of Metropolitan Mumcipalities for the 1996 sessirai. <br />To provide a forum for this input and discussion, we arc holding our 10th annual series of Outreach <br />Breakfast meetings for you and other city ofTicials. <br />The breakfast meeting for your area is scheduled for Wednesday July 12 at 7:30 ajn., in the WcUmgtai <br />Room of the Ramada Plaza (formerly Radisstm Minnetonka) in Minnetonka. The Ramada Plaza is located <br />on the southeast comer of Highway 12/1-394 and the Ridgedale Drive interchange. <br />Your input on these issues is crucial and we invite you to review the enclosed Issues paper to help focus your <br />thinking. <br />This will be an informal gathering and we look for a good exchange of idca^ This get-together can also be an <br />avenue for you to tell us what you'd like to see the AMM do more or less of in the way of member services <br />and how we can build a better rapport between city officials/AMM and metro legislato rs. <br />We hope you plan to attend your area breakfast by making reservations tow.
