Berg stated that Willians was the <br />one who had expertise in this area and that it did not seen as <br />appropriate now that she was no longer on the Board. Byrne <br />suggested targeting certain issues as they seened appropriate and <br />placing inserts in the newspaper, as the Coalition had done once <br />before. Board nenbers agreed that this appeared the best course of <br />action. <br />6. FUNDRAISING. <br />D. Peterson reported that NSP had agreed to donate $500 for <br />Safety Canp. <br />She also reported that Cheswick had prepared a list of <br />equipraent that the Crono Police Department could use. This was <br />given to Berg who will follow-up with the City Adninistratcr to get <br />his approval. <br />7. SAFETY CAI-IP. <br />D. Peterson indicated that the date had been changed to August <br />8 because the water patrol deputy was not available on the first <br />date selected. She stated that a notice would be going out shortly <br />in the Connunity Education brochure. <br />8. POLICE REPORT. <br />Cheswick asked if the Coalition wanted to sponsor the dunk <br />tank again at Buclchorn Days. Ke indicated that high school <br />students are interested in taking this over if the Coalition does <br />not wish to do it again. Board nenbers discussed the fact that <br />only $75 was nade last year and that it nay be difficult to recruit <br />police officers to sit in the tank. Upon a notion by Andersen, <br />seconded by Widner, the Board voted to let the students have the <br />dunk tank. Board nenbers discussed the possibility of dcping <br />sonething else at Buckhorn Days. Byrne said he would check into <br />sone ideas. <br />Cheswick stated that the school liaison officer, Scott Boris, <br />had identified a girl in niddle school who he felt would benefit <br />greatly fron attending a one-week canp offered^ by the Minnesota <br />Association of Sheriffs. Boris joined the neeting to explain the <br />situation in more detail and indicated that the fanily could not <br />afford the fee. Upon a notion by Byrne, seconded by B. Peterson, <br />the Board voted to fund $175 for the girl to attend the camp.
