The Board received, in their packets. Policy #2103 as a first <br />reading. The policy establishes regular Board of Education <br />neetings, dates and tine. This policy will be brought back to the <br />Board for a second reading on January 24, 1995. <br />The Board noved to Agenda Item F2, the transportation fund lobbying <br />effort. <br />UPON NOTION by Martha Van de Ven, seconded by Peg Swanson, the <br />Board of Education approved that the Orono School District would <br />cooperate with neighboring school districts to engage a lobbyist <br />for the purpose of getting relief from the financial "cap" on the <br />transportation formula. <br />The purpose of this motion is to participate with other school <br />districts in order to hire a lobbyist for a more consolidated <br />campaign to get relief from the transportation formula cap. <br />Motion carried. <br />UPON MOTION by Peg Swanson, seconded by Jack Veach, the Board of <br />Education auithorized Ehlers and Associates, Inc. to solicit <br />proposals for the sale of $3,305,000 General Obligation Tax <br />Andicipation Certificates and report the results to this Board for <br />consideration at the meeting of February 14, 1995. <br />Motion carried. <br />UPON MOTION by John Maresh, t^>^or‘Jed by Jack Veach, the Board of <br />Education approved the attached resolution authorizing <br />participation in the State's Credit Enhancement Program for the <br />General Obligation Tax Anticipation Certificates.
