MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUgATIOH a 1995 <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. jW ‘ <br />HELD ON JANUARY 10, 1995 <br />The regular neeting of the Board of Education of Orono Independent <br />School District No. 278 was held on January 10, 1995. The neeting <br />was held in the Orono Village Hall which will now be the regular <br />neeting place for the Board of Education. <br />Present: Janes Franklin Martha Van de Ven <br />Peg Swanson Jack Veach <br />Absent: Panela Schroeder <br />Thonas Mich <br />Neal Lawson <br />John Maresh arrived while the neeting was in progress. <br />UPON MOTION by Jack Veach, seconded by Martha Van de Ven, the <br />consent agenda was approved as follows: <br />approved the ninutes of the Decenber 6, 1994 <br />regular neeting; <br />- approved the ninutes of the Decenber 15, 1994 special <br />neeting; <br />• accepted the resignation of Phyll5s Fritz, <br />paraprofessional at Schunann Elementary School effective <br />December 23, 1994; <br />- approved the Treasurer's Reports for November and <br />December, 1994; <br />> approved the bills as covered by vouchers 085411 <br />through 085871 and office checks as covered by vouchers <br />4862 through 4972. <br />Motion carried. Board member Maresh absent. <br />Dr. Mich stated that he had sent a letter to Mayor Callahan <br />expressing appreciation to him, the City Council and the Orono <br />staff for their hospitality/graciousness to the School District as <br />the transition is made for holding the Board of Education meetings <br />in their meeting hall. <br />Dr. Mich reported that the semester break is January 20 and that <br />this is the time when the District recognizes its long-time <br />employees at a luncheon at the high school and the Board members <br />are invited to attend; that on January 18, 19 and 20 the annual <br />MSBA convention will be held at the Convention Center in <br />Minneapolis and he encouraged Board members to focus on exhibits of <br />architects; that he wanted to remind the Board that Mary Endorf and <br />Connie Fladeland hold coffee times for parents and if the Board is <br />aware of people who would like to attend one of these sessions, <br />please contact Mary or Connie; that Pam Henjum will attend a <br />meeting on January 17 sponsored by AMSD and NSPRA for the purpose <br />of obtaining information regarding the upcoming legislative
