Minnesota SS402 <br />(612) 333-4800 <br />DATE: <br />COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE LONG LAKE IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT <br />JANUARY 10. 1995 <br />Enclosed please find the most recent draft of the Cooperative Agreement for the Long <br />Lake Improvement Project This draft reflects the following changes: <br />• On page 3, paragraph 2.2, the definition of improvements was changed to <br />include chemical treatment and the phrase, "construction of aeration systems" <br />was deleted. <br />• On page 3, paragraph 2.4, the definition of routine oj^cration and maintenance <br />costs was changed to include only general site maintenance and not periodic <br />sediment removaL <br />• On page 4, paragraph 3.1, the phrase, "construction of aeration systems" was <br />changed to "chemical treatment in Long Lake." <br />• On page 4, paragraph 3.1.1, the phrase, "construction of hypolimnetic aerators, <br />one for each basin of Long Lake" was deleted and replaced with "use of alum <br />in Long Lake." <br />• On page 7, paragraph 3.1.12, the phrase, "routine and technical" was inserted to <br />clarify the MCWD responsibility and the phrase, "routine maintenance" was <br />changed to "sediment removal" to accurately reflect the responsibility of the <br />Cities. <br />• On page 8, paragraph 3.2.2, a sentence was added to clarify the responsibility <br />of the Cities witli respect to best management practices. <br />• On page 8, paragraph 3.2.3, the phrase, "routine operation and maintenance <br />costs" was replaced with "sediment removal costs." <br />• On page 9, paragrs^h 3.2.5, was deleted due to the fact that the Board of <br />Managers has decided to use alum treatment rather than aerators. <br />Please feel free to call me if you have any further comments or suggestions. <br />. . i* *.; .* h.
