MN 55402 <br />RE; City of Orono <br />Application for Building Permit: Lot 1, Tillsnn's Villa Caiman Addition <br />Dear Mr. Burrett: <br />I appreciate the opponunity to express my view to you regarding the application for a buildmg <br />permit for Lot 1 Tillson's Villa Carman .Addition. Pursuant to the concerns I expressed in our <br />earlier discussion, 1 have reviewed the applicable City Ordinances and performed extensive <br />rescMch as to the legal aspects of what I understand to be the issues involved. <br />HISTORY <br />Tillson's Villa Carman .Addition was subdivided into five lots and an outlet in 1962. All lots <br />were approved and recorded as meeting the proper area requirements for buildable lots under the <br />Citv’s 1955 Zoning Ordinance. A copy of the Plat is attached. <br />In 1965 I purchased Lots 1,4 and Outlet 1. In 19661 purchased Lots 2 and 3. That same year <br />Lot 2 WQ3 sold leaving me with my ownership inrere.st in Lots 1, 3, 4 and Outlet 1. <br />In January 1995,1 conveyed Lot 1 to my son. In February 1995, my son requested a permit to <br />build a sincle family dwelling on Lot 1. The City refti*;ed to issue a building permit to him, for <br />Lot 1, desp^ite the fact that Lot 1 meets all current area requiremtats under Municipal Zomng <br />Ordinance 5cc. 10.25 (1984).
