He believes that the plan is <br />very grand in scope. The Board of Governors would like <br />to work with staff on a realistic a..d acceptable plan. <br />The majority of the Planning Commission, of which three <br />are new members, would like to tour the island before <br />further review and recommendation. <br />Z o n1n g Administrator Mabusth noted that a <br />Counci 1/Planning Coramlssion/staff tour is tentativelv <br />scheduled for May 15th. ^ <br />Bellws stated she was astounded with the proposed scope <br />of the development plan, mainly because the Veteran's <br />group has been struggling to accomplish the demolition <br />and rehabilitation that currently exists. She is <br />concerned about the economic viability of this <br />economic information <br />Should be submitted to support this plan. <br />Mr. Wisdorf stated that he understands the concern of <br />funding, however, he noted that the City has limited <br />what they can do even if they have the means at this <br />time to accomplish a particular goal (i.e. they <br />currently have the funding and volunteers to paint but <br />do not possess the necessary permit;. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth stated that because all the <br />buildings have been condemned, staff would like to <br />convince them against this total development plan and <br />work with them on a compromise of a summer camp and <br />axactly what structures could remain. <br />Mr. Wisdorf stated that they would like approval of some <br />overnight camping for their work crews during the week <br />in addition to weekends. Presently, they are restricted <br />to only weekends. He stated they would like to start <br />the permitting process for the work they intend to do <br />next summer in order to avoid delays. <br />Chairman Kelley suggested that they outline the steps <br />they wish to take for next year's work. <br />6 <br />A,
