The city's current subdivision ordinance enables the city to require some tree <br />planting. The city may want to add specific landscaping requirements to its <br />subdivision regulations. <br />An important element running through the above issues is a balancing of the city's interest <br />in preserving trees with the property owner's rights to use the property. <br />1
