As
an involved community activist, I have worked with both John O'Sullivan
and Erv Smith over the years. Our joint involvement in Chamber activities
and community projects has given me a great respect for both their
business sense and awareness of their resp nsibi1ity to the Navarre/
Orono neighborhood and business community.
I strongly support the rezoning of this area from Residential to Light
Commercial for several reasons. A major concern is that this property
will continue to sit for years to come as few people would buy the land
to build priviate hom:s, and even less interest has been shown by builders
of multi-family construction. Rezoning to Light Commercial will be the
best situation for both the neighborhood and the business community. I
have complete faith that this proposed development will meet and exceed
all expectations.
The Church property sight has become an eyesore over the years. This
is an opportunity to create a better overall community image and increase
the City tax base...don't pass this by!
I will be happy to speak to this issue at the Planning Commission and/or
City council meetings. Please feel free to contact me for added input.
Jaoet S. Symons, Agent
