< ' <br />c • <br />Orono Police Department <br />Chief Gary Cheswick <br />2730 Kelley Parkway <br />Orono, MN 55356 <br />Dear Gary; <br />In reference to our phone conversation on 07-01-96,1 am willing to offer the Orono <br />Police Department the use of my vehicle, a 1967 Chev Camaro, for use in the D.A.R.E. <br />program, or for use in the C.O.P. (community policing) program. <br />As a Part-Time Police Officer for the City of Orono, I will take full responsibility for the <br />vehicle, and would not in any way hold the City of Orono, the Orono Police Department, <br />or any of its representives or agents liable for any damage to, or repair of the vehicle, <br />or any liability that would arise out of its use as a promotional tool. <br />I feel that the use of the car would not only promote the D.A.R.E. Program, and the fight <br />against drugs in our community, but it would also promote a positive image to the <br />Orono Police Department, and the City of Orono, taking a positive Law Enforcement <br />approach to a growing problem in our society. The car could be used in parades, <br />display at local car shows, and of course at the Orono School for the graduation from <br />the D.A.R.E. program. <br />This project would show the community that the City of Orono, and its Police <br />Department, really DOES care about the future of our children, and the fight against <br />drugs in our community.
