Vehicle <br />Exhibits:None <br />DISCUSSION <br />Attached is a letter from Officer Michael Carlson offering a collector 1967 Chevy <br />Camero Automobile to be used for the D.A.R.E. Program. This vehicle is available with no cost <br />to the city, and will be used to promote the D.A.R.E. Program by relating to a common interest <br />that most young people enjoy, v^hich is a unique automobile. <br />Many agencies in conjunction with the City D.A.R.E. Programs provide different avenues <br />for interaction with youth of the comn'.unity, with automobiles being a major point of interest. <br />The use of this donated vehicle would be for community gatherings such as ; Long Lake <br />Com Days, parades. National Night Out, D.A.R.E. functions, Buckiiom Days, etc. <br />Responsibility for the vehicle would be handled by Michael Carlson. <br />It is the department’s Ijclief that tools of this type add to Community-Police <br />communications and provide a positive influence. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Request permission to accept donation of vehicle to be used in D.A.R.E. Drug Awareness <br />Program. <br />i
