A <br />r DVTr» <br />APPROVING PLANS FOR <br />TURN LANE AND BYPASS LANE IMPROVEMENTS <br />AT THE INTERSECTION OF CSAH 51 AND CSAH 135 <br />IN CONJUNCTION WITH <br />CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAXWELL BAY ACCESS <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is cons^''ucting a public access <br />at the intersection of CSAH 51 and CSAH 135; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono approved the site plan for the afores?ad public access via Resolution <br />No. 3657 on December 11, 1995; and <br />WHEREAS, Finding No. 8 of Resolution No. 3657 states that "The proposed site plan incorporates <br />upgrades to County Roads 51 and 135 including right turn lanes and by-pass lanes to accomodate <br />the anticipated traffic generated by the access"; and <br />WHEREAS, the DNR has submirted construction plans for said turn lane and by-pass lane <br />improvements; and <br />W'HEREAS, a portion of said project will be constructed with State Aid funds;and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono in conjunction with Hennepin County Public Works has established <br />portions of County Roads 51 and 135 including the areas of the proposed right turn lane and by-pass <br />lane improvements as 24-hour "No Parking Tow Away Zones" via City of Orono Resolution No. <br />3514 adopted January 9th, 1995. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota, <br />that the construction plans for improvements to CSAH 135 and CSAH 51 including turn lanes and <br />by-pass lanes, are hereby approved. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 24th day of June, 1996. <br />ATTEST; <br />Dorothy M.
