MINUTES OF THE RECONVENED BOARD OF REMEW <br />MEETING HELD ON MAY 13,1996 <br />(Board of Review - Continued) <br />Jabbour commented that with the need to remove the sediment, the value should have <br />decreased He informed Kalweit that she had the option to go to the Hennepin County <br />Board of Appeals <br />Kalweit said it was her desire to call attention to the problems not being addressed <br />Goetten said Moorse will address those problems <br />Callahan asked for and received no additional public comments He asked if the Board <br />had reviewed the final recommendations All members agreed to the atVirmative. <br />When asked for further comments, Goetten noted her appreciation of a reduction in value <br />of a Navarre property. <br />Callahan moved, Jabbour seconded, to deny the appeals and accept the recommendations <br />included in the Assessor's Repon e.xcept as noted above regarding the Kalweit property. <br />Erickson said he has received three additional letters from property owners requesting to <br />go before the Board of .Appeals They are as follows; 1) Robert Owens, 1700 Bohns <br />Point Road, PID #16-117-23 22 0003, 2) Doug Johnson, 1355 Shoreline Drive, PID <br />#02-117-23 34 0012, and 3) Phillip Otto, 4116 Highwood Road, PID #07-117-23 44 <br />0087. Erickson said he reviewed the properties and sent appropriate letters. <br />Jabbour commented on the valuation of the property owned by Mur Senn, listed on page <br />10 of the report He noted the limitations to the lot Erickson said in his opinion the <br />property is a bargain at that price Erickson said at $137,000, the propeny is horribly <br />undervalued. He noted entry level lakeshore property is valued at least $100,000. <br />Jabbour said the increase was !a:ge, but Erickson said it was a fair price <br />Vote Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />Jabbour asked if anvihing was being done with the problems occurring in the <br />neighborhood of the Lorence property Moorse said he is meeting with the building <br />inspector and acting police chief to see what can be done It was noted that a neighbor is <br />illegally renting boat slips Callahan remarked that possibly legal act'on should be <br />pursued Erickson noted that a property can be assessed by its use regardless of the <br />zoning district in which it is located Jabbour said the neighboring property is being used <br />as a location for parties, and the 4 boats are blocking the channel <br />Jabbour asked Cheswick to consider the use of radar to track the speed in the area of <br />Forest Lake and North West .Arm Cheswick said he would check into the possibility.
