Applicant noted the view windows to the west and south would be impacted by <br />stru cture and the entire yard impacted by development of an access drive from cul-de-sac to <br />serve structure. <br />The structure will be used to store applicant's boat and yard maintenance equipment. The <br />garage/storage structure will be 15’ - 16' at peak height and the exterior will be constructed of <br />similar materials as the existing residence. The City has received no negative comments from <br />neighbors to the immediate north or east. There was no person in attendance at the meeting <br />to comment on the variance application. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />Four of the five member Planning Commission recommended approval of the application as <br />proposed and conditioned approval on applicant planting evergreens along the north and west <br />side of structure. The minority opinion objected to the 10' setback feeling it could be improved <br />finding the placement of the structure in the front yard objectionable and questioned why other <br />areas of the property could not be considered. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />To either deny, adopt or amend the enclosed approval resolution. An approval resolution has <br />been drafted per the findings and conditions of the Planning Commission recommendation. <br />J
