G/H-. 6 <br />ORDINANCE U , SECOND SERIES <br />AN ORDINANCE DELETING SECTION 5.37 OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL <br />CODE RELATING TO ON-SITE SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEMS CONTR.ACTOR, <br />AND DELETLNG SECTION 5.38 RELATING TO ON-SITE SEWAGE TREATMENT <br />SYSTEMS SITE EVALUATORS AND DESIGNERS, AND AMENDING SECTION 12.30 <br />RELATING TO ON-SITE SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEMS <br />THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS <br />The Municipal Code of the City of Orono is amended by adding Ordinance No , 2nd <br />Series <br />Section I. Chapter 5 of the Municipal Code of Orono is hereby amended by deleting Section 5.37 <br />in its entirety <br />Section 2. Chapter 5 of the Municipal Code of Orono is hereby amended by deleting Section 5.38 <br />in its entirety <br />Section 3. Chapter 12 vvf β€˜he Municipal Code of Orono is hereby amended by amending Section <br />12 30 Subd 2, Def 10 / i ,\s follows <br />i."Standard System" - An individual on-site sewage <br />treatment system er'c..n!ng a building sewer, sewage tanks, and the soil treatment system, <br />consisting of trend jt jrAjcs, or mounds which are constructed on original soil which has a <br />percolation rate equal to c " *ier than 120 minutes per inch and is constructed according to MPCA <br />and City of Orono codes <br />Section 4. Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of Orono is hereby amended by amending Section <br />12 30 Subd. 2, Def 10(a) ii as follows: <br />ii "Alternative System" - Alternative systems include <br />modified standard systems (seepage beds-, curtain drained systems and systems located in filled or <br />compacted soils), reduced area systems (aerobic tanks, separated toilet waste and greywater systems <br />and seasonal use systems), advanced alternative systems (mounds, with percolation rates slower than <br />120 mpi minutes per inch, collection systems, other systems such as toilet waste treatment devices, <br />etc), and holding tanks Alternative systems when feasible must be constructed according to <br />MPCA and City of Orono codes <br />Section 5. Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of Orono is hereby amended by amending Section <br />12 30 Subd 2, Def 10(c) ii as follows <br />ii ’’ Conforming System" "Compliant System" - A system <br />which does not meet all the location, design and construction standards of the current City codes, <br />but was installed according to the code ;* effect at the time of installation, and which is operating <br />satisfactorily by treating and disposing of the entire current sewage input without discharging any <br />pollutants into ground or surface w aters. <br />1 <br />k...
