MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MARCH II., 1996 <br />(#11- Zoning .Amendment - Continued) <br />Hurr said she was would like to further address the scope of the amendment under the <br />residential zoning. Hurr is in favor of the 50' setback for this particular site because of <br />the planned berming but is concerned with a school in a residential zone being allowed <br />50’ from a residential property line and would not approve continuing this setback with <br />other projects Kelley was in agreement with Hurr ’s assessment. <br />Hurr moved, Goetten seconded, to adopt Ordinance #145, Second Series, amending <br />Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.20, Subd. 3 (A) by establishing indoor ice arenas as a <br />conditional use accessory to a high school in the "schools" conditional use within the R- <br />1A One Family Residential District and a further amendment to the code as it relates to <br />schools in residential areas be brought to the Council prior to December 31, 1996. Vote; <br />Ayes 4. Nays 0. <br />Goetten complimented Mark Engebreison on the good e.xample their organization has <br />shown in their fund raising efforts and work with the neighbors and City. Engebretson <br />said he appreciated the assistance and attitude of the Staff and Council. <br />(*#I2) JOINT USE DOCK LICENSES - RESOLUTIONS #3694 THROUGH <br />#3703 <br />Goetten moved, Kelley seconded, to adopt Resolution #3694 through #3703, directing <br />Staff to issue joint use dock licenses to Fox Hill Homeowners Association, Forest Arms <br />Country Club Addition Homeowners Association Inc , Walters Port Maintenance and <br />Improvement Association, Victoria Estates Homeowners Association, Navarre Cove <br />Homeowners Association, Minnetonka Power Scjuadron, Pheasant Lawn Homeowners <br />Association, Sandy Beach Place, Big Island Inc , and Carlson/Gage/Nelson for the period <br />of January 1, 1996 to December 31. 1996. Vole. Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />The Council had no report. <br />Moorse commented on the appreciation shown by the Saga Hill Preservation Society for <br />the Council's action on the tax forfeit parcel. Jabbour noted the letter in the local paper <br />from Patti Affeldt of the Saga Hill group thanking the City Staff and Council for their <br />work. <br />ENGINEER REPORT <br />The City Engineer was not present.
