The City of Orono is an Equal Opportunity Employer <br /> <br />CITY OF ORONO <br /> <br />Position Title: Resource Management Technician <br />Document Date: July 21, 2022 <br />Department: Finance <br />Accountable to: Finance Director <br />FLSA Status: Non-exempt <br /> <br />Nature of Work <br />This position provides excellent customer service while providing support with administrative <br />functions of the Finance Department with a primary focus of Accounts Payable and Utility <br />Billing. <br /> <br />Supervision Received and Exercised <br />This position reports to the Finance Director and receives oversite of work product related to <br />financial records from the Accountant. The position does not supervise other employees. <br />Examples of Work <br />Essential functions listed below are intended as illustrations of the various types of work that <br />may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them if the <br />work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. <br /> <br />• Responsible for the utility billing process including: account setup, processing <br />billings, resolving customer concerns, annual certification, and answering general <br />inquiries. <br />• Work closely with Public Works in areas related to Utility Billing included preparing <br />work orders for re-reads, data logging, meter replacement, and reporting. <br />• Responsible for the Accounts Payable process including, administration of the <br />electronic approval system, invoice approval queue assignment, coding routine <br />invoices, and processing/mailing checks and electronic payments. <br />• Maintain vendor database including W9 compliance, remittance addresses, electronic <br />payment information, and issuance of 1099’s. <br />• Process escrow refunds and maintain escrow database. <br />• Assist with updating and maintaining fixed asset ledgers. <br />• Assist in preparing year-end audit work papers, and participate in the City’s annual
