The purpose of this action item is to appoint Alicia Johnson to the position of Resource <br />Management Technician. <br /> <br />2. Background. On July 10th the Council approved the promotion of Anne Hentges to the Accountant <br />position. The promotion created an opening in the Resource Management Technician position. This <br />action would promote Alicia Johnson from an administrative assistant position to the position of Resource <br />Management Technician. <br /> <br />3. Recruitment. An internal selection process was used to recruit for this position. Alicia was the only <br />current employee that applied. The applicant was interviewed by the Finance Director and Accountant <br />and concluded that based on her qualifications, demonstrated abilities, and knowledge that Alicia is an <br />excellent fit for the position. <br /> <br />4. Recommended Candidate. Alicia started with the city as a temporary scanning clerk and has been <br />in her current full-time position for three-years. Alicia has proven to be a valuable member of the city <br />hall team. Her experience at the front counter has given her a good understanding of the organization <br />which will be a great help in her new role in the Finance Department. She has also honed her customer <br />service skills while dealing with contractors, the public, by working closely with multiple city <br />departments. Based on her qualifications, demonstrated job performance, and recommendations of her <br />co-workers, I would like to promote her to the position of Resource Management Technician. <br /> <br />5. Recommended Compensation. I recommend promoting Alicia Johnson to the position of Resource <br />Management Technician. Based on the OPEIU Local 12 union contract I recommend that she be placed <br />at Grade 6, Step 3 ($29.28) of the Local 12 pay scale and retaining her anniversary date as 7/13. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve the hiring of Alicia Johnson as Resource Management Technician at Grade 6 Step 3 of <br />the Local 12 of the OPEIU wage scale. <br /> <br /> <br />Exhibits <br />A.
