Moorse Letter <br />August 6,1997 <br />Page 2 <br />At this time the Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department would like to advise you that they <br />are considering a special equipment purchase for 1998. They would like to purchase <br />5" Fire Hose to serve those areas that are a challenge because of the topography or <br />location of the nearest water source. These areas are primarily outside the City of <br />Long Lake and in the contract cities of Orono and Medina. At this time the Long Lake <br />Volunteer Fire Department is intending to purchase $18,000 worth of hose. This cost <br />also includes some changes necessary to existing equipment to make connections <br />from smaller diameter hose, as well as connections to existing fire vehicles. <br />Based upon the most recent cc«/. share allocation for the purchase of special <br />equipment, your cost is $12,643. The Long Lake Volunteer Fire Department <br />respectfully requests that you consider the allocation of funds for the purchase of this <br />equipment in 1998.
