mIznA. <br />To:From: <br />Re: <br />City of OronoInterfaith Outreach & Community Partners 110 Grand Ave. S.Wayzata,MN 55391 <br />Contact Person: LaDonna Hoy, Executive Director <br />473-2436 <br />Request for 1998 Funding <br />! ^ <br />Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners (lOCP) requests a grant of $1,000 from the <br />City of Orono to help subsidize its services for Orono residents in 1998. <br />lOCP services for Orono residents include but are not limited to: <br />Emergency Services - information referral, advocacy, food, clothing, shelter, fmancial <br />assistance with housing, transportation, medical and other life needs. <br />Family Services Program - a family centered program to help stabilize families and <br />assist them in achieving financial independence. <br />Job Services - job service specialists and trainers provide assistance at lOCP for low <br />income residents. <br />Holiday Program - help with birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas needs. <br />Children*s Programs - assistance for low-income famil: .s with back-to-school needs, <br />camp scholarships, lOCP art class, Cargill/IOCP Reading Club, recreational needs and <br />advocacy. <br />Professional Services - pro bono tax preparation, legal assistance, budget counseling <br />onsite and offsite, as well as dental care donated by community professionals. <br />♦ <br />St Mary’s Health Clinic - free primary health care for the uninsured. <br />Transportation - rides to critical services, such as medical, educational, employment, <br />counseling, court, legal, etc. <br />lOCP programs provide a service continuum that helps people move from CRISIS to <br />CHOICES to CHANGE. This continuum begins with a broad spectrum of emergency <br />services - information, referral, advocacy, food, clothing, shelter, financial assistance, <br />physical and mental health interventions - which respond to the need in times of crisis <br />and transition. Here the focus is on short term crisis response with an emphasis on <br />achieving stability.
