r <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 25,1997 <br />(#15 Amendment to Stubbs Bay Sewer Project Plans - Continued) <br />Gappa reported that there is 150' of right-of-wtQr at this location. He asked Council if the <br />City should move ahead to fix the driveway. He indicated he has spoken with a iwighbor <br />along Bederwood who has concern r^ardii^ the project and has a^ed to gjve public <br />comments. He infi^rmed the neighbor that a public hearing was required for the berm. <br />Goetten questioned that the public hearing was necessary because of both the change in <br />the plans and the berm being over 100 c.y. <br />Jabbour indicated, and all members agreed, that the Council is obligated to pay for the <br />rq>air of the driveway as part of the sewer project. He directed Staff to hold the public <br />hearing at the Septeiri)er 8 Council meeting. <br />Mrs. Terp said her husband is a landscape derigner and will make the berm aesdietically <br />fit in with the area. Jabbour asked that the plan be ^ven to Staff fi>r use at the public <br />hearing. <br />(#13) CHANGE ORDER #1 BAY RIDGE/BRACKETTS <br />PROJECT <br />NT SEWER I <br />Kelley moved, Goetten seconded, to approve Change Order No. 1. Kelley asked who <br />pays for the increases. Cook said the amount could be assessed as the reridents waived <br />their rights to appeal the assessment amount. Kell^ withdrew his motion. <br />Jabbour moved. Kelley seconded, to approve Change Order No. 1, Bracketts P<wit/Bay <br />Ridge Sanitary Sewer Project, in the amount of $55,538. Staff was instructed to add this <br />amount to the original special assessment subject to review by City Attorney Barrett. <br />(#14) CHANGE ORDER #5 NORTH LONG LAKE SEWER PROJECT <br />Jabbour moved, Kelley seconded, to approve Change Order No. 5, North Long <br />Lake/Long Lake Country Chib Sanitary Sewer project, in the amount of $10,208. Vote: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />Jabbour said he received a notice fi'om Shorewood Mayor Howard Bennis that be will be <br />hosting the meeting regarding the MCWD. <br />FUnt reported attending the Femdale Road public hearing. He indicated there was a lot <br />of support for the trail. It was noted that the trail will be fimded by MSA fimds and the <br />cost will be shared with the Chy of Plymouth.
