#2209 - Spring Hill Golf Club
May 8,1997
Page 6
discussion between the City and the County. However, staff conceptually has no problem
with the tunnel.
PC RECOMMENDATION: None
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: (See May 9 Staff Memo)
VI. OTHER IMPACTS
A. Archaeological/historical sites
The Phase I Cultural Resources Sur\ey conducted for Spring Hill by Bear Creek
Archaeology, Inc. identified two areas of potential archaeological importance. Both sites
were deemed to have potential for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places
(NRHP). Because of this potential, both sites will undergo a Phase II investigation this
spring. The likely result will be inventorying and artifact removal rather than site
preservation.
STAFF & PC RECOMMENDATION: None, pending outcome of additional investigation.
B. Aesthetic impacts
1. Architectural Compatibility With Surrounding Neighborhood .
STAFF & PC RECOMMENDATION: Accept architectural style of clubhouse as
presented, finding it is compatible with the surrounding area and not ver/ visible from off
site; and require screening of maintenance building.
2. Lighting.
STAFF & PC RECOMMENDATION: Applicants to provide a lighting plan prior to
issuance of building permit for staff approval, the intent being compatibility with the
residential nature of the area, compliance with City codes and shielding so that the sources
of light are not visible from offsite.
3. Preservation of Open Snnee Character. Maintaining Natural Rural Vistas, and Tree
Removal and Replacement.
STAFF & PC RECOMMENDATION:
1.Approval should be conditioned on City acceptance of a final detailed tree
replacement plan.
