The overlay would be <br />expected to last 10 years, estimated cost for the overlay is $131,732. <br />STAFF & PC RECOMMENDATION; Per City Engineer's recommendation dated 4-16-97. <br />D. Intersection Upgrades <br />The City Engineer has indicated that Hennepin County should determine whether intersection <br />upgrades, including turn lanes, are needed at the 6/Tamarack and 6/Hunter intersections as <br />a result of this development. If so, the Engineer recommends those upgrades be assessed to <br />this development. Staff is meeting with Hennepin County on April 18 to review this. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Per Hennepin County April 23 letter, a westbound <br />auxiliary lane should be developed at the Hunter/6 intersection. <br />PC RECOMMENDATION: PC agreed that intersection upgrades should be required if <br />deemed necessary, but left it to Council to determine who pays for them. <br />E. Trail System <br />Medina has conditioned their approval on a trail easement along Tamarack coinciding with <br />Orono's trail. Orono's adopted trail plan does not include a trail heading north on Tamarack <br />Drive. It does, however, indicate a trail coming up East Long Lake Road and continuing <br />westward on Spring Hill Road. Applicant has indicated he will cooperate to the extent <br />possible in establishing trails on or adjacent to the perimeter of the site. Neither staff nor <br />Park Commission have investigated the specific trail needs or routing as of this writing. <br />PC RECOMMENDATION: None <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: (See May 9 Staff Memo) <br />F. Utility Needs <br />Municipal sewer and water are not available for this property.
