Gaffron
Assistant Planning & Zoning Administrator
City of Orono
P.O. Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323
Subject: Spring Hill Golf Club
Dear Mike:
Enclosed are two full-size plans and one 11" x 17" size plan of the sight line
drawings at the maintenance facility and at the bluff area on Hole 5.
In the case of the maintenance building, the sight lines show that, in most cases, the
berm itself will screen the view of the building from the adjacent streets. In the balance of
the cases, the proposed pine and spruce tree planting will screen the view.
For Hole 5, the sight line from the south shows that the impact to the bluff area will
be screened by the significant existing vegetation and trees that will be retained on the north
side of Spring Hill Road. The sight line from the tee to the fairway shows the grading
required on the bluff slope on the west side of the bowl to provide a line of sight to the
fainway. The proposed grades shown on this plan propose 6 to 8 feet less excavation at the
bluff slope than shown on the previously submitted grading plan.
Please call me with any questions.
Very truly yours,
SCHOELL & MADSON.
