RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING <br />ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to resolutions passed by the Council on January 13,1997 and <br />February 24, 1997, the City Engineer (consulting engineer retained for the purpose) has prepared <br />plans and specifications for the North Long Lake/Long Lake Country Club sewer, Orono Ice Arena <br />sewer and water, and Lift Station Number 6 rehabilitation improvement project and has presented <br />such plans and specifications to the Council for approval; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />ORONO, MINNESOTA: <br />1. <br />2. <br />Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof, are hereby approved. <br />The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted the otficial p^r (and in the <br />Construction Bulletin) an advertisement for b’. ~iaking of such <br />improvement under such approved plans and specificai.uns . ertisement shall <br />be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, staie that bids will <br />be received by the Clerk until 11:00 a.m. on April 23, 1997, at which time they will <br />be publicly opened in the Council Chambers of the City Hali by the City Clerk and <br />Engineer, and will then be tabulated. An assessment hearing will then be held and <br />after the assessment appeal period ends the bids will be considered by the Council <br />at 7:00 p.m. on June 9, 1997 in the Council Chambers. Any bidder whose <br />responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an <br />opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be <br />considered unless sealed and filed with fno Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, <br />cashier's check, bid bond or certified eheck payable to the Clerk for 5 per cent of the <br />amount of such bid. <br />Page 1 of2
