Renovation
Orono, Minnesota
Our File 13981
Dear Mayor and Council:
2i.■40j,
i ^‘rrsmry
• ‘'cO
Mar
^iTy
’ 9 m?
P/Vo
Lift Station No. 6 Renovation was bid Thursday, March 13, 1997. The low bid was
$86,062.47, approximately $9,000 above the Engineers estimate. Due to the bids being
higher than estimated it is recommend that Renovation of Lift Station No. 6 not be
awarded.
It is recommended that Renovation of Lift Station No. 6 be bid as part of the new Long
Lake Country Club and Long Lake North Lift Stations/Sanitary Improvements. Through
combining the three lift stations into one project we hope to lower the overall project
costs. Also, after review of the bid tabs (cost break-down), we will be adding a second
approved manufacturer to the pump and control specification sections to create a more
competitive bid situation.
If you have any questions, please call me at 604-4875.
Sincerely,
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES
UcasiaQ.
