T— <br />% <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: February 6, 1997 <br />ITEM NO.: / ^ <br />Department Approval: <br />Name Greg Gappa <br />Title Public Services Director <br />Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Public Works <br />Item Description: Seasonal Weight Restrictions <br />Attached is a list of the recommended axle weight limit restrictions for each City street. The <br />streets will be posted from March 15 through May 15, 1997. <br />The normal length of time that restrictions are in effect is related to weather conditions. <br />In the past several years, we have allowed solid waste haulers to continue their normal operations, <br />limiting them to gross weight on any single axle of seven tons or 14,000 pounds. If a street shows <br />signs of severe breakup, we will restrict the solid waste haulers to the listed weight restriction. <br />An axle limit exemption for public service vehicles to be used during emergency situations has <br />also been included in this resolution. <br />I have drafted a resolution for the 1997 weight limits for Council approval. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Proposed Motion: Moved by__, seconded by__, that Council adopt Resolution # <br />establishing the 1997 Weight Limits for City streets from March 15 through May 15, 1997.
