Soils along the delineated boundary were field <br />identified as black (10 YR 2/1) sandy loam with dark brown (7.5 YR 4/4) <br />mottles, from 0 to 12 inches. Soils inside the delineated boundary were <br />identified as silty organics. Upland soils were identified asblack (10 YR 2/0) <br />sandy loam from 0 to 12 inches and dark gray (10 YR 4/1) sandy loam at 12 <br />inches. <br />Inside the wetland basin, water was standing at less the 1 inch. No hydrology <br />was observed along the wetland boundary or in the upland areas. <br />Wetland 16 is a Type 3 (Inland Shallow Fresh Marsh) wetland. It is classified <br />as a PEMC wetland (Palustrine Emergent Seasonally Flooded). It is <br />approximately 1.8 acres in size. <br />Vegetation along the delineated boundary' consists of sedge Carex spp. <br />(facultative wetland), common buckthorn Rhamniis cathartica (facultative <br />upland), raspberry Rubiis strigosa (facultative wetland), reed canary grass <br />Phalaris arundinacea (facultative wetland), garlic mustard Allaria periolata <br />(facultative ) and prickly gooseberry Ribes setosiim (No indicator). <br />Vegetation found inside the delineatec boundary consists of sedge, duckweed <br />Lenina minor (obligate) and wool grass Scirpus cyperinus (obligate). <br />Vegetation found outside the delineated boundarv consists of American elm <br />Ulmiis americana (facultative wetland), .ed oak Quercus rubra (facultative <br />upland), sugar Acer saccharum (facultative wetland), American basswood <br />Tilia americana (facultative upland) and Kentucky bluegrassPoa pratensis <br />(facultative -). <br />Hennipen County Soil Survey classifies basin 16 soils as Peaty muck over loam. <br />Boundary soils were field identified as black (10 YR 2/1) sandy loam from 0 <br />to 13 inches, and dark gray (10 YR 4/1) sandy loam with slight dark yellowish <br />gray mottles occurring at 13 inches.
