CITYof ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 4 10 8_____ <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING <br />VARIANCES TO <br />MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.24, SUBDIVISION 5 (B) AND <br />SECTION 10.22, SUBDIVISION 2 <br />FILE #2358 <br />WHEREAS, Randy Staffanson and Marie Staffanson (hereinafter "the <br />applicants") are owners of the property located at 1422 Park Drive within the City of Orono <br />(hereinafter "City") and legally described as follows; <br />Lot 1, Block 14, "Saga Hill Revised," Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the <br />property"); and <br />WHEREAS, after due published notice and mailed notice in accordance with <br />Minnesota Statutes and the City of Orono Zoning and Planning Codes, the Orono City Council <br />held a public hearing on May 26, 1998, at which times all persons desiri.ng to be heard <br />concerning this application were given the opportunity to speak thereon; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for variances to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.24, Subdivision 5 (B) and Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to permit the <br />construction of a new 24’x26' garage in the same location as a previous garage destroyed by <br />fire. Variances are required for a side yard setback to allow the garage to be located 6.16' <br />from the property line where 10’ is required and for hardcover to allow 31.75% hardcover in <br />the 250-500' setback where 30% is allowed. <br />Minnesota; <br />1. <br />2. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />This application was reviewed as Zoning File #2358. <br />The propert>* is located in the LR-IB, One Family Lakeshore Residential Zoning <br />District where 1 acre or 43,560 sq. ft. is the minimum lot area.
