223250v2 <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 7379 <br />RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT <br /> A CENTERPOINT ENERGY COMMUNITY SAFETY GRANT <br />WHEREAS, CenterPoint Energy provides public safety grants to communities in their <br />service area through their CenterPoint Energy Community Safety Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the City submitted an application to the CenterPoint Energy Community <br />Safety Grant program for the purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED); and <br />WHEREAS, the City has been notified that it has been awarded $1,150 from the Grant for <br />the purchase of an AED; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has the legal authority to apply for and accept the Grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City to <br />accept the Funding and proceed with the purchase of an AED subject to the terms and <br />conditions of the grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY, the Orono City Council that the City of <br />Orono accepts a CenterPoint Community Safety Grant in the amount of $1,150 for the purchase of <br />an AED. <br />ADOPTED this 10th day of July, 2023, by the City Council of the City of Orono. <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />By: _______________________________ <br />Its Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />______________________________ <br />Its City Clerk
