MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, August 24, 2015 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 13 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Jim Cornick, Jr., Lizz Levang, Aaron Printup, and Dennis Walsh. <br />Representing Staff were Finance Director Ron Olson, Community Development Director Jeremy <br />Barnhart, Senior Planner Michael Gaffron, Public Works Director/City Engineer Adam Edwards, City <br />Attorney Soren Mattick, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA: <br /> <br />Item No. 5 was added to the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />*2. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 10, 2015 <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan noted the minutes have been amended to reflect that Adam Edwards was on vacation. <br /> <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />August 10, 2015, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS – KEVIN LANDGRAVER, REPRESENTATIVE <br /> <br />Representative Landgraver stated he had nothing to report but would be available for questions. <br />Landgraver stated Chair Leskinen has been doing a great job at chairing the meetings, especially as they <br />get longer and longer. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />PLANNING DEPARTMENT REPORT <br /> <br />3. REQUEST FOR FUNDING: NAVARRE COMMUNITY INITIATIVE INSURANCE <br /> <br />Community Development Director Barnhart stated the Navarre Community Initiative is requesting the <br />City contribute the cost of the special event insurance policy which is estimated at $500.00 to the Bike <br />Navarre event. <br /> <br />The event is scheduled for September 20. The event is not a City event but it will be held in a city park <br />and features frequent collaboration between Initiative members and the City. The event will include an <br />open house at the Navarre Fire House, a bike rodeo, musicians, a bouncy house, food and vendors. There
