The code requires four acres
of contaguous land, the property contains approximately 3.3 acres of
contiguous land. Since that time the Andersons hr ve moved out of the
house--the house has been vacant tor over a year and a half. The
Andersons have had the house offered for sale for at least three years.
Reports from persons seeking information on the property confirm the
house will require major repairs if it is to remain i n its present state
and not be torn down.
On November 14, you and t)jc neighboring property owners wore invited to
an open house at 1900 Shoreline Drive. It was the hope and intention of
the applicants, Tom and Krista Haul, to convey the unique history and
background of the Anderson house and to demonstrate how the house and
grounds would fit a "Bed and Breakfast" use.
The information packet submitted by the applicants depicts a Bed and
Breakfast use. I have had first-hand experience with Bed and
Breakfast operations on trips .and can confrim the level of use
proposed. They are always located in residential neighborhoods and
function as a suboordinate use within a residence.
The applicants ask you to confirm that the Bed and Breakfast use is
compat i ble wi th the performance standards of the Home Occupation Use.
