The purpose of this action item is to approve a temporary parking permit to park in the <br />Navarre parking lot. <br />2.Background. In the 1980’s Shoreline Drive was repaired and at that time on street parking in front <br />of this house and specifically parking for 3468 Shoreline Drive was removed. This address has no <br />driveway or accessible parking on the property. The City has worked with property owners in the past <br />and have allowed temporary parking in the Navarre Municipal lot while the property owners sought long- <br />term solutions. <br />3.City Code. City Code Sec. 66-77 - Private use of public streets and parking lots. Allows <br />residents to seek a permit from the City via application to the Police chief and Approval by the <br />City Council. <br />4.Permit Applicant. <br />Name Address Costs/ Fees Period <br />Todd Nelson 3468 Shoreline Drive $100 Application fee <br />Actual cost of signs, <br />posts and installation of <br />signs by Public Works <br />June 1, 2023 to 31 <br />December 2024 <br />5.Staff Recommendation. Staff recommends approval of the temporary parking permit for 3468 <br />Shoreline Drive. The city will designate and sign two parking spaces in the Navarre Municipal lot. <br />Property owner is responsible for a $100 application fee as well as actual cost of the signs, posts and <br />installation of the signs by Public Works. Property owner is responsible of moving the vehicles during <br />snow events that requires the parking lot to be plowed.
