Letter states weathered rail
road ties would not have significant impact on quality of surface water runoff. The
letter infers that all the data obtained by the PCA before determining impact on
Lake Minnetonka was obtained through phone conversation only - no site inspection.
Planning Comnission instructed Zoning Administrator to investigate further for
docimentation on problems that might arise from project. Staff will check with PCA
regarding enclosed letter. V/ill check with Hennepin County also.
Tabled to give Staff and Planning Comnission time to review as letter wasn't pre
sented until item came up for consideration.
STAFF - November 23, 1976
I think we should consider this proposal (mi the basis of a violation of our pennit
requirements and in contrast to our policy of natural stone shorelines.
I am enclosing a copy of a letter I received from tlic Watershed District in regards
to ties versus stone for shoreline retainers.
1*^
v\
1
i
li
i.
ti
4
f :
4k
4
4 ^
»
li
-..■K.
